    Tasty taco treat

    This kit makes for a quick and easy meal and is overall pretty tasty. It would be a little better if it was not quite so salty.

    Tried the pork taco kit tonight. It was awful! The meat mix is dry and salty. M & M always has great food. This one is definitely a 👎.

Cooking Instructions

PREPARE FROM THAWED.

  1. Pierce the top of the pork pouch and the vegetable pouch and place them on a microwave-safe dish. Thaw in the microwave, on defrost setting, 5 to 6 minutes. Thaw salsa pouch in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes. CAUTION: Do not put salsa pouch in microwave. 
  2. Alternatively, thaw all pouches in refrigerator for 24 hours.

STOVE TOP:

  1. For best results, use non-stick medium size skillet. 
  2. Heat 2 tbsp (30 mL) of oil on MEDIUM heat.
  3. Empty pork pouch contents into the pan. Use tongs or two forks to separate the pork. 
  4. In a small bowl, combine seasoning pouch contents and 1/3 cup (80 mL) of water. Mix well. 
  5. Add prepared seasoning mixture to pan and simmer 5 minutes, or until thoroughly heated. Stir occasionally. 
  6. In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) of oil on MEDIUM heat. 
  7. Cut a small corner from the vegetable pouch to drain excess liquid. 
  8. Add vegetables to the second pan and heat 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. **OPTIONAL: Combine the pork and vegetables in the same pan. 
  9. Remove tortillas from packaging. Warm in microwave 30 to 60 seconds before serving.

NOTE:

Ensure product is thoroughly heated to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) before serving. Since appliances vary, these instructions are guidelines only.

TO SERVE:

  1. Place shredded pork in tortilla shell. 
  2. Garnish with heated vegetables. 
  3. Serve with included salsa.
