Add it up: 4 simple dinners for 4
Sunday, May. 9, 2021
It’s the question that dogs every household at the end of the day: What’s for dinner? Instead of drawing a blank, draw a little inspiration from your freezer. To get you started, we’ve created five tasty scratch-ish dinners for four from favourite staples you’ll find in our freezers (and yours).
Gingery stir-fried beef and veggies over rice
Heat up your wok or biggest non-stick skillet, and give our Gingered Beef strips a sizzling stir-fry while the pouches of tangy, spicy ginger sauce warm up in a hot water bath alongside. Pour the sauce over the meat in the pan, give it a toss and your main is ready. Serve the beef over our quick-cooking Rice and Vegetable Medley — studded with red bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, peas and onions — and you have a complete meal that’s ready in less than 20 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro for a pop of fresh herbal flavour.
Smoky grilled chicken sandwiches
Fresh-out-of-the-oven baguettes make killer sandwiches, and our Petite Baguettes bake up fast, straight from the freezer. Spread them with our smoky Chipotle Mayo Spread, and top with crispy chicken breast cutlets, Swiss, lettuce and tomato. Our boneless Chicken Breast Grills are seasoned, lightly breaded and fully cooked, so all you have to do is give them a warm-up before serving.
Smoky pulled pork poutine
Slow-cooked and totally tender, our Pulled Pork isn’t just for sandwiches. Here, it adds a smoky, nicely spicy edge to one of Canada’s signature foods: poutine. Start with a base of our Crinkle Cut Fries, top them with the pork, add a sprinkle of squeaky cheese curds and then drizzle with a little of our tangy-sweet Apple Butter BBQ Sauce. Because more sauce is always better.
